Toxic foods for dogs

Chocolate is one of the most toxic food you can give to your dog, especially dark chocolate.

Raisins and Grapes can cause kidney damage.

Onions and garlic can take your dog to a hemolytic anemia.

Macademia Nuts are also toxic afecting the digestive system

Components such as caffeine and xylitol are very dangerous. The nervous system of our dogs is much more sensitive than ours and caffeine affects them in an increased way. Regarding xylitol, it is a new sweetener for human use that is highly toxic for dogs as it can cause acute hypoglycemia and seizures.

Also, foods with a lot of salt and/or fat, such as fast food and table scraps, can cause pancreatitis in our dogs.

All dogs are different but you can give the following human foods in moderate quantities:

  • Breed
  • Cashews
  • Cheese
  • Coconut
  • Corn can be good but never corn cobs
  • Peanut, peanut butter (only NATURAL, check it doesn’t content Xylitol)
  • Popcorn
  • Pork
  • Quinoa
  • Salmon
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Shrimp
  • Tuna
  • Ham
  • Honey
  • Milk
  • Wheat/grain
  • Yogurt (plain)
  • Turkey

And, NEVER food or fruits that have pits in it.

We recommend this great alternative!
